Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the Brev Android application ("the App") or the trybrev.app website ("the Website"). By using Brev, you agree to be bound by these terms.
These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Klaudjo Shkurta ("I", "me", or "my"), the individual developer operating Brev, based in Greece.
1. The Service
Brev is a minimalist note-taking application for Android. Notes are stored locally on your device. The App does not require an account and does not sync notes to any server operated by me.
The Website provides information about the App and allows users to submit feedback and join the closed beta.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App and Website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Use the App or Website to store, transmit, or distribute unlawful, harmful, or offensive content.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
- Use the Website or any of its forms to submit spam, malicious content, or false information.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website, including the admin area.
3. Beta Access
The App is currently in a closed beta phase. Beta access is provided at my sole discretion and may be revoked at any time without notice. Features available during beta may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. Beta users agree to provide good-faith feedback.
4. Intellectual Property
All content on the Website — including text, design, logos, and graphics — is owned by me and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Brev name and logo are my exclusive property.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Website content without my prior written consent.
5. Your Content
Notes you create in the App belong to you. Because all notes are stored locally on your device, I have no access to your content and bear no responsibility for it. You are solely responsible for backing up your data.
Feedback you submit via the Website may be used by me to improve the App. By submitting feedback, you grant me a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for product development purposes.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App and Website are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. I do not warrant that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- Data stored in the App will not be lost due to device failure, software bugs, or other causes.
- The Website will be available at all times.
You use Brev at your own risk. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of any data stored in the App.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App or Website, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.
My total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed €50.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Greek or EU law.
8. Third-Party Services
The App and Website rely on third-party services including Google Play, Firebase, Vercel, and Google Analytics. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. I am not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
Joining the closed beta via Google Groups is subject to Google's Terms of Service.
9. Termination
I reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the beta or the Website at any time, for any reason, without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App continues — your local data remains on your device and is unaffected.
10. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms of Use from time to time. I will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when I do. Continued use of the App or Website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Greece.
If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
