Last updated: 2026-03-12

This Privacy Policy explains how Klaudjo Shkurta ("I", "me", or "my"), the individual developer operating Brev, collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Brev Android application ("the App") or visit the trybrev.app website ("the Website").

I am based in Greece and this policy is written in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679.

1. Who is the Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

Klaudjo Shkurta
Independent Developer
Greece
Email: shkurtaklaudjo@gmail.com
Contact form: trybrev.app/contact

2. What Data I Collect and Why

2.1 The Brev Android App

Notes and content you create
All notes you write in Brev are stored locally on your device only. I have no access to your notes and they are never transmitted to any server.

Crash reports and error logs
If the App crashes or encounters an error, crash data is automatically collected and sent to Firebase Crashlytics (operated by Google). This data may include your device model, Android version, app version, and a stack trace describing what the app was doing at the time of the crash. It does not include the content of your notes.

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to identify and fix bugs in order to maintain a functional app.
  • Data processor: Google LLC, acting as a data processor under Google's Data Processing Terms.

Anonymous usage analytics
I collect anonymous, aggregated data about how the App is used — such as which features are used and how frequently. This data cannot be used to identify you individually.

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to understand how the app is used and improve it.

2.2 The Brev Website (trybrev.app)

Feedback form
When you submit feedback via the form at trybrev.app/feedback, I collect:

  • Your feedback text (required)
  • Your name (optional)
  • Your email address (optional)

This data is used solely to read and respond to your feedback. If you provide your email address, I may reply to your message directly. I do not use this data for marketing or share it with third parties.

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to receive and respond to user feedback during the beta period.

Beta sign-up (Google Group)
If you join the closed beta via the Google Group at groups.google.com/g/brev-closed-beta, your email address is collected and managed by Google. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles that data.

Website analytics
The Website uses:

  • Vercel Analytics — collects anonymous traffic data (page views, referrers, browser type) to understand site usage. No cookies are used. Data is processed by Vercel Inc.
  • Google Analytics — collects anonymized data about how visitors use the website. IP addresses are anonymized. Data is processed by Google LLC.

For both services, no data is collected that can personally identify you without additional information.

  • Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to understand website traffic and improve the site.

The Brev Website does not use first-party cookies for tracking or advertising. Vercel Analytics operates without cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies on your device to distinguish users and sessions. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.
